BP Sidekick — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 6, 2026
The BP Sidekick is a browser extension for logged-in members of Private Buyers Club (PBC). It helps you confirm you are viewing the correct item, keep track of your order deadlines, and submit your order details to your own PBC account. This policy explains exactly what data it handles.
What the extension accesses
- Your PBC account, via a token. When you click “Connect” on the PBC website, the extension receives an access token tied to your account. It is stored locally in your browser (
chrome.storage.local) and sent only to app.privatebuyersclub.com to load your orders and submit order details. You can disconnect at any time from the extension popup, which deletes the token.
- Amazon order pages you are already viewing. On amazon.com, the extension reads only what is needed to help you: the product identifier (ASIN) and seller shown on the page, and — on your own order-confirmation page — the order number, order total, tax, and estimated delivery date. It reads these from pages you open yourself; it does not browse Amazon on your behalf and does not read your Amazon account, payment details, passwords, or browsing history.
- A screenshot of your order page. On your own Amazon order page (the order-details page, or the post-checkout confirmation page) the extension shows a “Submit order proof” button; when you press it, it captures an image of that page and sends it, with the order details above, to your PBC account — the same information you would otherwise upload manually on the PBC website. Capture only happens on a single order page you are viewing, only for an order that matches one of your open PBC orders, and only when you press the button (an optional setting can do this hands-free on the confirmation page; it is off by default). Your multi-order list page is never captured, and no other pages are ever captured.
What the extension does NOT do
- It does not sell or share your data with any third party.
- It does not collect your browsing history or activity on sites other than the PBC website and Amazon order/product pages.
- It does not read or store your Amazon login, passwords, or payment information.
- It does not place orders, write or submit reviews, or take any action on Amazon on your behalf. All purchasing and reviewing is done by you, manually.
- It runs only on
app.privatebuyersclub.com and amazon.com — nowhere else.
Where your data goes
All data the extension sends goes to a single destination: your own account on app.privatebuyersclub.com, over HTTPS. It is the same data you already provide to PBC when you use the website manually. No data is sent to the extension developer or any advertising, analytics, or third-party service.
Data retention
The access token and a short list of your current tasks are cached locally in your browser and removed when you disconnect or uninstall the extension. Order details and screenshots you submit are stored in your PBC account and governed by PBC’s main Privacy Policy and Terms.
Your choices
Using the extension is entirely optional — you can do everything through the PBC website instead. You can disconnect it from the popup, or remove it from chrome://extensions at any time.
